As our Shipper/Rigger, you will be responsible for building and loading crates/dunnage's, bundling materials, performing rigging and strapping tasks, and safely handling various materials and equipment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in an outdoor environment with changing conditions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Experience & Skills:
    • Ability to read a tape measure.
    • Experience with hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, band saws, chop saws, etc.).
    • Knowledge of strapping, slinging, rigging, and loading materials safely.
    • Understanding of gravity, proper lifting device selection, tag lines & weight distribution.
    • Comfortable using forklifts (certification preferred, training available).
    • Carpentry background or similar hands-on experience.
  • Work Ethic & Expectations:
    • Punctuality is important – being on time is required for this role.
    • Ability to work in an outdoor environment (80% outside, 20% inside) in various weather conditions.
    • Willingness to work on ladders (up to 15 feet, using rolling staircases, a-frame, and extension ladders).
    • Self-motivated mindset – must anticipate tasks, work independently, and take initiative.
    • Safety-first attitude – ability to follow proper procedures and regulations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Build and load crates ensuring material is properly secured.
  • Cut cradles (dunnage) to separate and stack materials efficiently.
  • Use saws and tools to prepare materials for shipping.
  • Strap, sling, and rig materials for transportation.
  • Read and interpret drawings, input part numbers, and verify specifications.
  • Understand and interpret crane hand signals to ensure safe movement while rigging.
  • Operate forklifts and ladders as needed to load and move materials safely.
