JOB SUMMARY Based in Kewanee, IL, this position reports to the Quality Manager. In this role, you will be responsible conducting various tests and inspection of switchgear and switchboard equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform testing and inspection of switchgear and switchboard equipment, including but not limited to circuit breakers, relays, transformers, and control panels.
Conduct routine functional tests to verify proper operation of equipment and identify any potential defects or malfunctions.
Verify and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate testing procedures and results.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults or abnormalities in equipment, utilizing various testing instruments and equipment.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to develop and implement test plans and procedures.
Maintain accurate and detailed test records, documenting test results, observations, and any necessary corrective actions.
Assist in the development and improvement of testing processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while performing tests, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
Stay updated with industry standards and best practices related to switchgear and switchboard testing.
Assist in the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Handle other business duties at the discretion of management.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School Diploma
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electrical technician.
Experience in equipment maintenance.
Great understanding of quality control principles
Excellent manual dexterity
Great physical condition
Proficiency in using tools and equipment.
Great technical knowledge and skills
Ability to read and understand instructions in manuals and blueprints.
