JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Estimator to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the review and evaluation of the customers’ specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work. You will prepare Request for Quote/Billing of Material (RFQ/BOM) for submittal to approved vendors and evaluates the vendors’ proposals and compile project cost estimates for labor, material and overhead for projects.

  • Workdays: Monday through Friday
  • Travel Requirements: 15% - Domestic

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain up-to-date Salesforce Data system and bid list.
  • Download/upload bidding information.
  • Review all contract documents to become familiar with project requirements and obligations under the contract and applies to pricing (schedule, specifications, drawings, safety manual, etc.).
  • Submit requests (RFIs) for estimating questions by deadline.
  • Perform material take off.
  • Develop a detailed proposal letter or bid form.
  • Update estimate to project upon award.
  • Generate award documents for review.
  • Identify areas of importance (milestones, liquidated damages, etc.) of a project and relays to sales team.
  • Review purchase orders, subcontracts, and contracts for accuracy.
  • Assure complete and thorough pre-manufacture planning and distribution of all documents in accordance with the pre-manufacture process.
  • Facilitate a scope review with the Project Manager.
  • Attend kick-off meeting.
  • Estimate change order costs for Account Manager to prepare and submit the request to the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in a related area preferred.  2-year technical degree and/or equivalent years of engineering, science/technology and/or business.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
  • Prior experience in estimating electrical construction projects.
  • Experience entering project information into Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Experience with Salesforce, Solidworks, and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Desirable to have custom engineer-to-order experience.

Work Environment: Primarily office environment but will also include some shop environment that is not climate-controlled.
