Responsible for setting up and operates machine tools to cut, shape, or form metal to specifications. Responsible for aligning parts per blueprint in preparation for welding and for performing welding operations.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience: No education required. Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions. Wears approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, etc. HS diploma or GED preferred. 1 to 2 years of experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills: Works with a limited degree of supervision and may act as an informant resource for colleagues with less experience. Can be depended upon to be available for wok and to fulfill position requirements. Has basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Sets up, adjusts or operates basic or specialized machine tools.
Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
References blueprint and confers with Lead person to determine job requirements.
Gathers necessary materials and performs layout per specifications.
Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as press brakes, shears, iron workers, saws, punch presses, turret presses, and rivet machines.
Diagnoses machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
Evaluates machining procedures and recommends changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability.
Disposes of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
Trains junior operators.

Completes assignments on or ahead of schedule and accomplishes assigned work in an organized, timely manner.
