JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a resourceful and detailed Field Equipment Technician to join our Equipment Readiness Team at our facility in Suwanee, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and readiness of our field equipment. This position will report to the Field Technician Supervisor for specific task assignments and will be under the direction of the Site Supervisor for specific field tasks. Tasks consist of equipment set up for field applications, repair, and calibration of weld systems while at the job sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot problems to component level, ship, receive and set up for field applications and reconciliation of field equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning automated welding equipment, manual welding equipment, and other associate components.
  • Keep accurate and complete maintenance records.
  • Partner with in-house maintenance staff, engineering, field project management and site personnel to support job requirements.
  • Oversee the housekeeping and organization of tools.
  • Comply with safety rules and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain awareness of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Experience:  2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Education: An Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, specialized military training in an electro/mechanical field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Prior OSHA safety training in the power generation, petroleum, and chemical industries.
  • Must be able to operate forklift equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills- Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Familiar with automated and manual TIG and MIG welding processes.

COMPETENCY SUMMARY

  • Diagnose errors or technical problems with automated equipment and machine tools; must be capable of making necessary repairs including repairs to wiring, circuit board repair and/or mechanical repairs.
  • Must be able to read schematics and follow signal paths.
  • CNC, PLC, and Relay Logic capable.

*Travel: Travel is 100% of the time. Must have an active U.S. Passport or be eligible to obtain a U.S. Passport.
