JOB SUMMARY

Are you an experienced Field Service Technician looking for a new opportunity? In this role you will supervise, coordinate, and perform the installation and repair of bus duct systems at power generating facilities in the US and abroad. 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, coordinate, and perform field testing; troubleshoot and repair; oversee installations and prepare reports of completed work and problems encountered
  • Coordinate equipment, supplies and travel arrangements
  • Interface with customers and supervising subcontractors
  • Perform repair work, hi-pot electrical tests and submit reports
  • Conduct high voltage electrical tests of field installed GIL in accordance with standard procedures and/or special nonstandard instructions; maintain records of all tests performed
  • Operate and check RIV measuring instrumentation requiring operation of SF6 gas handling systems and careful use of sensitive SF6 leak detectors
  • Maintain test equipment and ensure always in calibration; maintain clean, neat and orderly work areas

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Skills: Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel on short notice and may be required to stay for extended periods of time.
  • Equipment Used: Basic hand tools and measuring devices. Various computer programs.
  • Certifications: Vocational / technical degree in electricity or equivalent helpful.
  • Education/Experience:  High school diploma or equivalency (GED) preferred. Good knowledge of basic mathematics, algebra, geometry, statistics and their applications and business accounting principles are a plus.
  • Attendance Requirement:  Requires regular attendance during scheduled shift and overtime when required. Willingness to work off shift, i.e., 2nd or 3rd shift.
  • Physical Demands:  Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping/using hands/reaching. Spends app. 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing.
