JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic, high-performing Quality Control Lead to oversee our Thermal Spray Projects. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing industry or customer quality standards, test/inspection methods, process control techniques and other quality engineering tools for the company's products and processes. You will also ensure quality standards are understood, maintained, and adhered to for Thermal Spray Projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of self-confidence, passion, initiative, and commitment to customer service.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement, maintain, and manage the Quality Control Program for Thermal Spray projects.
  • Interface with customers, authorized inspection agency, and regulators.
  • Develop quality procedures dedicated to Thermal Spray.
  • Review specifications, drawings, and reports to ensure that quality requirements are adequately translated into work process control documents.
  • Document and track the status of non-conformance and corrective action reports.
  • Reports to Director of Quality Assurance regarding the status and adequacy of WSI Thermal Spray Quality Control Program.
  • Supervises quality personnel work.
  • Advises project management personnel on quality engineering related matters and keeps them informed of the quality assurance implementation status within WSI.
  • Assists project personnel with development and maintenance of efficient and accurate project planning documentation.
  • Maintains a working awareness of events occurring within the industry and provides input to management when events have potential impact on hardware and technologies.
  • Conforms in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances, company policies, procedures and directives; and takes appropriate steps to assure compliance by personnel under supervision.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Experience:  At least 5+ years of experience in the Quality Control field, which includes two (2) years of supervision of personnel.
  • NACE CIP Level 3, SSPC PCI Level 3 Certification, and/or AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector required. An experienced individuals with a Level 2 Certification who aspires to obtain level 3 certification may be considered for the role.
  • Highly experienced in surface preparation, cleanliness, environmental conditions, test instruments, coating mixtures and safety concerns.
  • Capable of undertaking non-destructive and destructive inspections of thermal spray coatings to any substrate without supervision
  • Possess technical knowledge of coatings, problem solving abilities for issues that arise on site and capable of supervising coating inspectors.
  • Education: BS Degree or equivalent technical training/experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office & Field environment.  Ability to travel up to 75% of the time. When traveling, will be in plant/industrial environments.
