As a Field Service Technician, you'll travel across the U.S. to install, inspect, and repair electrical systems at power plants. - Willingness to Travel: 75% travel is required. Experience with extensive travel is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read tape measurements, blueprints, and electrical schematics. Hands-on skills, such as MIG welding or equipment operation, are a plus but not required.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a good driving record is mandatory.
- Certifications: Ability to attain an ASTM and ANSI/AWS 6-G MIG aluminum welding certification, U.S. passport, and forklift/man lift operator training certification.
- Experience: Prior supervisory experience or experience coordinating construction jobs is preferred.
- Positive Attitude: We’re looking for a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Project Preparation: Coordinate the tools, materials, and equipment for each project.
- On-Site Work: Inspect, install, and repair electrical systems at power plants, oversee and work alongside subcontractors to complete the job.
- Lead and Coordinate: Work closely with customers and subcontractors on-site, ensuring safety and efficiency in every task.
- Safety First: Ensure safety standards are adhered to, including completing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before starting any work.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct electrical tests and troubleshooting in accordance with company procedures.
- Daily Reporting: Keep the project manager informed with detailed daily reports on project status, challenges, and potential changes in scope.
- Budget Management: Ensure that project expenses are kept within budget, and submit all necessary paperwork on time.
- Customer-Facing Role: You’ll be the point of contact on-site, ensuring customers are informed and satisfied with the progress of their projects.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- You’ll spend most of your time at remote power plants, often outdoors and working in various weather conditions.
- This is a physically active role, requiring you to stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. You’ll also need to be comfortable working at heights and using hand tools.
- Good vision is required for reading blueprints, inspecting work, and operating machinery.
