JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Metal Finisher to join our growing production team. A Metal Finisher is responsible for preparing, grinding, polishing, and finishing metal surfaces and products to specified standards. This role ensures all components meet quality and safety specifications and are properly prepared for further production or final assembly. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, strong manual dexterity, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Reporting directly to the Fabrication Supervisor, this position is based in Millington, Maryland.
This position is for third shift, 7pm-5:30am Monday-Friday.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Grind, sand, polish, and finish metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
- Inspect finished products for conformance to quality standards.
- Remove burrs, rust, weld splatter, and other surface defects from metal components.
- Operate equipment such as belt grinders, orbital sanders, and deburring machines safely and effectively.
- Follow blueprints, drawings, or job instructions to achieve desired finish.
- Handle and store materials properly to avoid damage or contamination.
- Maintain clean and organized work area, complying with safety regulations and housekeeping standards.
- Monitor tools and equipment to ensure proper operation and report any issues to supervisor.
- Assist with loading/unloading parts and preparing them for the next stage of production or shipping.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ year of experience in metal finishing, fabrication, or similar industrial setting preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and safety instructions.
- Skilled in using grinders, buffers, hand tools, and measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Strong attention to detail and quality control standards.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Knowledge of safety practices and PPE requirements in a manufacturing environment.
