JOB SUMMARY
Based in Kewanee, IL, this position reports to the Production Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for installation and connection of electrical busbars within switchgear systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand the bussing requirements for switchgear systems.
- Assembling and mounting electrical busbars, including cutting, bending, and shaping copper or aluminum bars as per specifications.
- Installing busbars within switchgear enclosures, ensuring proper insulation, grounding, and secure connections.
- Connecting busbars to various electrical components, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and disconnect switches.
- Testing and verifying the continuity and integrity of busbar connections using electrical testing equipment.
- Troubleshooting and resolving any bussing issues, such as loose connections or improper alignment.
- Collaborating with engineers and other team members to identify and implement improvements in the bussing process.
- Adhering to safety procedures and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of bussing procedures, including drawings, diagrams, and test reports.
- Assisting in the inventory management of busbar materials and components.
- Handle other business duties at the discretion of management.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Assembler
- Experience in equipment maintenance.
- Great understanding of quality control principles
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Great physical condition
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment.
- Great technical knowledge and skills
- Ability to read and understand instructions in manuals and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
